Kitty BITE Back Series Episode 16: Why do you want to hurt me, @liMes?? Last I checked, god was love

Hey Jellies!!! I hope this episode finds you well. We will be traveling soon, so I'm hoping to have more date night content and things of that nature. Just to give you a peek inside the life I've created for myself post cult. So be on the lookout for that content. Anywhooo.. let's get right into this week's info.

This week we will be discussing the 14th component of Behavior Control under the BITE model as described by SAH; and it is, "punish disobedience by beating, torture, burning, cutting, rape, or tattooing/branding". I'm telling you, it only get's darker from here; so, if you are starting not not be able to stomach the dark twists this is starting to take, I think this is where we say our goodbyes. STORY TIME!

Punishments in the form of beating, torture, burning, cutting, rape, or tattooing/branding is by far very extreme. Contrary to what you may think, though, I did experience some of these.

• Beating: When people would pray for me during a really wild service (wild being high energy) they would lay hands on me. It was common for me to come home with bruising where I had been hit or pounded on repeatedly with someone's hand or an object (bible, shoes, towel, musical instrument, etc). These bruises would mostly be on my back; as every time I "prayed" I shielded my head and face from everyone so they 1. couldn't see if I was or wasn't praying, 2. couldn't hit me in the face, and 3. couldn't yell or scream in my ears. I wasn't the only person that this was happening to on a weekly basis; anywhere from 1/2 hour to 4+ hours at a time. I was encouraged to participate in praying for people and being very hands on. Most of the time I retreated to the back of the group of people praying so I didn't have to actually do much (those "prayer warriors" are the ones up on the frontlines). There was also a couple in the cult who had a son. It came out that the husband had been beating his wife and child. The response of the cult leader was that he is the man of the household and his hand is what rules. So whatever reason he had to put his hands on his family, it must have been justifiable. And nothing happened. That wife and husband were still together when I left the cult. I don't know if they still are; but, they were when I left.

• Torture: A few weeks ago I told you about how when I didn't eat both the yellow and white of a hard boiled egg during service to signify putting on the yolk of god and being steered by him, the cult leader put his belt tightly around my neck and paraded my adolescent self around the building to have each individual pray for me. I had no say in what was happening to me. I had no say in when it ended. I had no say at all. This. This was a form of torture. This is not the only thing that I experienced or saw happen while I was in the cult.

• Burning: N/A

• Cutting: N/A

• Rape: This is where it starts to get brutal and disgusting. It was a teaching of the cult that a woman had to always be sexually available for her husband. And since protection can't be used, you're likely to get pregnant a few times. I knew one girl who was only a few years older than me that had 4 kids and had many miscarriages. According to these teachings, a man cannot rape a woman. Just something to think about.

• Tattooing/Branding: N/A

Are you or someone you know experiencing any of these horrid forms of punishment? If so, skip calling me, skip calling someone you trust, you go ahead and call the police, baby. Because trust me, these animals deserve to be in jail.
