Main Series Kitty BITE Back Episode 9: I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed, liMes!!!! $$$$$$$$$

HEYYOOOO!!! I’m literally just out here livin‘ y’all! I’m trying to just vibe and have a great time. I hope you are as well!! You SHOULD BE! Anywhosies, this week we are talking about the 7th component of BITE Model as described by SAH. The 7th component is: “financial exploitation, manipulation, or dependence”. Hold up, wait a minute, let me put a definition in it! (If you didn’t sing that, we can’t be friends...)

1. Financial Exploitation- Google says: the illegal or improper use, control over, or withholding of income, property, or resources

2. Financial Manipulation- Google says: the illegal altering of financial resources to present a false picture

3. Financial Dependence- Google says: the practice of making someone or being dependent on another for money, clothes, and food.

HMMMMMM...... INTERESTING......

STORY TIME!

• How could someone do this to someone... it’s fucking disgusting. The leader would require a 10% minimum of all the income into the household. This includes all money coming into the household and all resources. If you bought a bag of 10 apples, you were to take an apple to the leader. If you bought a bag of 100 popsicles, you were to take him 10 popsicles. The list goes on... it ridiculous! On top of of 10 % of all the household‘s resources, you were to give an offering of an “encouraged” 25%. Sooooo add that on top of what you’re already giving. You can see how quickly the leader becomes dependent on the group giving up at a totaled minimum of 35% of it’s earned resources. This was to pay the bills of the building, pay the leader, and have a reserve for future projects (Like the cult paying for everyone to get their CC in case of an attack... but, I digress.) So let’s start with financial exploitation (FE). In this cult I was in, FE happened most often with the elderly. many of the elderly people in that cult were on SSI or disability of some sort. They become exploited very easily because the leader and elders of the cult take these elderly people in with a promise of help and a place in heaven. Secondly, we have financial manipulation (FM). FM is easily seen in the single moms and single women of the cult. The teachings of the cult say that the unwed women are to consult with the leader of the cult before large purchases and major life decisions; since they don’t have a husband to consult with. I watched my mom be talked into talking on 4 cleaning jobs around town on top of her full time job just to make ends meet because she was required to give so much to that cult (upwards of $2,500 a month at times). Imagine the life she could have had, had she not be FM. Lastly, we have financial dependence (FD). FD is really what the cult leader becomes on the members of the group. He becomes dependent on them to pay for his house, his utilities, the group brings them 10% of their groceries and all resources and supplies. He literally is being offered life on a silver fucking platter, man! Rot. That’s all I have to say... rot.
